At 99.998% the systems are only down for a few minutes each year which is at least partly due to the back up procedures the company has in place to cope with system issues. They have 15 data centres internationally; if one centre crashes, all the data it contains will automatically transfer to another to keep the service running with minimal disruption. 8×8 also work with several call carriers to guarantee high call quality. This means that the system will automatically select the best carrier for your call at the time and, if one carrier fails, it will switch it to another.
As a Cloud based VoIP system it does not need any onsite PBX hardware to be installed. As long as you have access to high speed internet all you need is a selection of IP phones.
